Ingvild Bjerkeland (f.1981) debuterte i 2002 med en kort prosatekst i Signaler. Hun utga sin første bok, ungdomsromanen Oscar Blue går under, i 2005. Ingvild har også utgitt to bildebøker; Pøbler i pels og pyjamas (2013, illustrert av Jens Kristensen) og Monsterbølger (2015, illustrert av Åshild Irgens. I 2023 kom Udyr, en lettlest og ubehagelig spennende grøsser for leser fra 10 år. Boka vant ARKs barnebokpris i 2023, er superfinalist til Bokslukerprisen og nominert til Nordisk råds barne- og ungdomslitteraturpris 2024.
Ingvild har vært student ved Forfatterstudiet i Bø, hun har en doktorgrad i film- og fjernsynsvitenskap fra NTNU Trondheim og har arbeidet mange år ved Høgskolen i Innlandet, hvor hun blant annet forsket på norsk barnefilm. Hun har også jobbet i filmbransjen. Nå bor hun i Haugesund og arbeider ved avdeling for Kultur, Idrett og Frivillighet i kommunen.
